Anshun is connected by high-speed rail to Guiyang (30-40 min) and is accessible from most major southwestern cities. The Huangguoshu scenic area is 45km from Anshun city center — best reached by taxi or organized tour. Chinese payment apps and Didi work well. Anshun West railway station is on the Shanghai–Kunming high-speed rail line, with frequent Guiyang connections (40 min). The city is compact but attractions are spread out — hire a taxi for the full day (approx. 400-600 CNY for Huangguoshu + Dragon's Breath + Maling River Canyon). Didi available within city.
Anshun is known for butter tea (酥油茶), stone coal hot pot (石材火锅), and Anshun rice noodles (安顺米粉). Local markets near the old street offer cheap and excellent regional cooking. Budget 40-80 CNY per person.
