Chengdu · fares by rule
In short
Chengdu's regulated taxi meter could not be read off an official page for this pass, so this page quotes no taxi number. What it does fix, from the Chengdu Metro operator's own rules: single tickets follow the city's base-fare policy, the metro app or a Tianfu Tong card takes 10% off, day passes cost ¥20, ¥50 or ¥70, you must exit within four hours, overseas bank cards can tap in, and metro questions go to 028-61638000.

Check before you rely on it
These are Chengdu-only rules read off the metro operator's official pages. This page does not quote a taxi fare, a waiting charge, or a metro distance-band fare (the official notices that set them could not be opened this pass), and every other Chinese city sets its own tariff — so do not carry these rules elsewhere.
The point of a regulated city is that you can check what you are charged against the rule. Below is what the Chengdu Metro operator states in its own ticketing notice — each row with the clause it was read from — followed by an honest list of the Chengdu fares this page could not confirm, starting with the taxi meter.
Official rules · read September 19, 2026
Four pages on the Chengdu Metro operator's official site: the 票务须知 ticketing notice (2025-07-27), the 单程票 single-ticket page (2024-06-28), the 票务政策 ticketing-policy index, and the homepage footer. Each row states what it means for you, the rule as it stands, and where in the notice to check it.
| What it means for you | What the rule states | Where in the rule |
|---|---|---|
| A single-journey ticket is charged under the city's base-fare policy — the bands are not printed | Single-journey tickets are sold at station ticket-vending machines and at the semi-automatic machines of the station customer service centre, and are charged “per the base fare policy” (按基本票价政策计费). The operator's page names that policy but does not print the distance-band table, so this page quotes no starting fare and no per-band step — see the could-not-confirm block. | 单程票 一 (2024-06-28) |
| Paying with the Chengdu Metro app or a Tianfu Tong card is 10% cheaper than a paper ticket | Riding with the Chengdu Metro app, the Tianfu Tong app, the Tianfu Citizen Cloud app or an ordinary Tianfu Tong card gets 10% off the single-journey fare (单程票票价9折) plus a cumulative-spend tiered discount. The single-journey ticket from the machine is the full-price fallback for a visitor with none of the local apps. | 票务须知·地铁篇 一 / 二.1 |
| Day passes cost ¥20 (1-day), ¥50 (3-day) and ¥70 (5-day), valid from first tap | The operator's ticketing-policy index lists three day passes: a one-day pass at ¥20, a three-day pass at ¥50 and a five-day pass at ¥70, each valid from the first tap. Only the index teaser was read this pass, so no further validity wording is claimed beyond “from first tap”. | 票务政策 list · 日票 |
| Children under 1.3 m tall ride free — a height rule, not an age rule | The free-ride threshold for children is height, 1.3 m, not age. Expect station staff to judge by the height line, not by a passport date of birth. | 票务须知·地铁篇 二.5 |
| Tap in and tap out with the same ticket or the same app — codes cannot be mixed | Entry and exit must use the same ticket so the trip record is complete, and QR codes from different apps may not be mixed within one journey: whichever app opened the gate must close it. | 票务须知·地铁篇 三.2 |
| A paper ticket is good only at the station and on the day it was bought | A single-journey ticket is valid only for entry at the station where it was bought, on that day. Getting off earlier than paid for is not refunded; an unused ticket can be refunded on the purchase day within operating hours. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.1 |
| You must exit within four hours of tapping in, or pay the network's highest single fare | After entering the gates a passenger must exit within four hours. Overstaying is charged the highest single-journey fare on the network at the exit station on top of the trip itself; travelling beyond what a ticket paid for is charged the difference. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.2 |
| A lost or damaged ticket is replaced at the highest single fare on the network | If a ticket is lost or has stopped working, the exit-station customer service centre issues a replacement charged at the network's highest single-journey fare — so a lost ¥2 ticket is not a ¥2 problem. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.3 |
| Change your mind within 10 minutes and the same station lets you out free | A passenger who cancels the trip within 10 minutes of entering can be released without charge by the customer service centre of the same station, before passing the exit gates. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.5 |
| At Shuangliu Airport T2, the Line 19 and Line 10 stations are linked as one continuous fare | Line 19's 双流机场2航站楼东站 and Line 10's 双流机场2航站楼站 offer an out-of-gate transfer (出闸换乘) that keeps the fare continuous; single-ticket holders use the dedicated transfer passage. This is the one Chengdu arrivals-side transfer the operator spells out. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.8 |
| An overseas-issued bank card is a recognised way to ride — fix a broken tap within 7 days | The operator's own rules cover bank cards issued inside or outside the mainland (境内(外)发行的银行卡) as a way to ride. If a tap-in or tap-out is missing, the incomplete trip can be repaired up to the 7th day at a station self-service ticket machine or customer service centre; from the 8th day the highest single-journey fare for that record is deducted instead. | 票务须知·地铁篇 四.9 |
| The Rong Line 2 tram is a flat ¥2 per ride, coins accepted | The 有轨电车蓉2号线 tram charges a flat ¥2 per boarding (2元一票制); getting off and re-boarding needs a new fare. Card tap, coins and the same apps are all accepted. | 票务须知·有轨电车篇 一 |
Read off: Chengdu Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. (成都轨道交通集团有限公司), the licensed Chengdu Metro operator — 成都地铁票务须知 (Chengdu Metro ticketing notice), with 单程票 and 票务政策 pages (票务须知 published 2025-07-27; 单程票 page published 2024-06-28; operator site, not the price authority; read September 19, 2026)
| What it means for you | What the rule states | Where in the rule |
|---|---|---|
| A metro ticket problem has one official Chengdu number: 028-61638000 | The operator's own site footer lists its service hotline as 028-61638000, staffed 周一至周日 5:50–00:20 the next day, and its ticketing notice sends any question to the station customer service centre or that same line. This is the operator's customer-service line, not a government supervision line. | 官网页脚 服务热线 · 票务须知·地铁篇 五 |
| Only the metro number is carried — no taxi complaint line is asserted | This layer publishes only 028-61638000, the number written verbatim on the operator's page, with the hours it states. The Chengdu Transport Bureau's taxi supervision line was not read off an official Chengdu page this pass, so neither 12328 nor 028-12345 is asserted here. | 供述边界 |

These are Chengdu's own transit rules, read off the Chengdu Metro operator's official ticketing notice, single-ticket page, ticketing-policy index and homepage footer. They hold inside the Chengdu administrative area only. This page does NOT quote a Chengdu taxi fare, a waiting charge, or a metro distance-band fare: the joint transport-bureau-and-price-authority notices that set them are on gov.cn pages this pass could not open, so — per the red line — no number is borrowed from any third party, and the page says so in a visible could-not-confirm block. Only the metro operator's 028-61638000 is asserted as a contact; no taxi complaint line is claimed. And every other Chinese city sets its own tariff and rail table — do not carry the ¥20/¥50/¥70 day passes, the 10% app discount, the four-hour limit, or any rule here to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, or elsewhere.
What this page could not confirm
The metro ticketing and contact rows above were read off the operator's official pages. These are the Chengdu facts this page deliberately does not state, because no official page carrying them could be opened this pass.
National layer
This page carries the rules that hold only inside Chengdu. What every licensed ride-hailing platform in the Chinese mainland owes a passenger — receipts, the fare shown before you ride, and how a dispute is handled — is set by national regulation, not by any one city. That sits, article by article, on the national ride-hailing page, and it is the layer to lean on in Chengdu while the city's own taxi tariff stays unconfirmed here.
