Within the city, buses and taxis are the main options — no metro exists. Key bus routes: C318 from Rizhao West Station to city center (5 stops); K13 from West Station to the university town area (13 stops). Taxis are affordable and widely available. For intercity travel, high-speed rail from Rizhao West Station connects to Qingdao (~1.5 hrs), making a day trip feasible. The city is also reachable by bus from Lianyungang to the south.
Rizhao's food scene is dominated by Yellow Sea seafood — fresh crab, clams, sea urchin, and fish are available at every price point. Budget standouts include Rizhao Xiangyangtun BBQ Seafood Hot Pot (¥94/person, open until 2am) and Must-Steam Seafood at Wanpingkou (¥110, 24hr).
