Qikou Ancient Town
碛口古镇
A remarkably well-preserved Qing-dynasty trading port on the Yellow River in Lin County, once the most important commercial hub between the Loess Plateau and the North China Plain. The town's stone-paved streets, cave-dwelling courtyards, and riverside warehouses have changed little in two centuries. The Black Dragon Temple (黑龙庙) perched on the cliff above the river offers sweeping views of the Yellow River rapids and the opposite Shaanxi bank.
