Lixian is on China National Highway G317, accessible from Chengdu via Dujiangyan and Wenchuan (about 3–4 hours by bus or car). Buses from Chengdu's Chadianzi Bus Station serve the route. Taoping village is about 8 km from the county seat — accessible by local bus or taxi. Bipenggou requires a separate vehicle or tour.

Local cuisine blends Qiang and Tibetan influences: cured meats, wild mushrooms, highland barley dishes, and locally brewed corn wine. Taoping village has small restaurants serving traditional Qiang meals for ¥25–50. The county seat of Zhaxiling has more dining options at ¥20–40 per meal.
