Emeishan has its own high-speed rail station (Emeishan Station) on the Chengdu-Kunming line, about 1.5 hours from Chengdu. The city is also accessible from Leshan (30 minutes by bus). Cable cars and shuttle buses operate within the mountain scenic area. The Leshan Giant Buddha is a common combined day trip.
Emeishan cuisine features Sichuan's signature spicy flavors alongside Buddhist vegetarian temple food. Local specialties include Emeishan tofu (峨眉豆腐脑), mountain wild vegetables, Sichuan hotpot, and various mushroom dishes from the mountain forests.
